Thom Yorke to Score the Broadway Revival of Old Times
Thom Yorke is a busy man. Not only is he heading back to the studio this September with Radiohead to record their 9th studio album – a follow up to the album King of Lambs (2011) – but he is also composing for his Broadway debut. Yorke is composing the score for the revival of Harold Pinter’s 1973 play Old Times which will be directed by the Tony award winning Douglas Hodge.
In a statement Douglas Hodge says “The play itself is about memory and love – Thom’s music works backwards and forwards and plays with time and repetition in the same way Pinter does.” Much of the music is created on synthesizers to match the play’s 70’s era and includes intros, outros and scene transitions. Old Times will premiere at the American Airlines Theatre in Manhattan, New York on October 6th and it runs until November 29th
