This week I’m going with a classic. You can’t spell House Music without Frankie Knuckles. The man took over Chicago, and then the world. He shaped the genre with soulful, hypnotic songs and legendary sets at some of Chicago and New York’s infamous clubs. Whenever I talk to older people in Chicago who were involved in the House scene of the 80s and 90s one of the first thing’s they’ll usually talk about is how they got to see Frankie at Smartbar or the Warehouse. He passed away several years ago but his impact is still felt and will be felt for many more years. This track is one of my favorite’s of his. The vocal is pretty minimal, but it communicates a lot.
