I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Maggie Baugh, a rising country artist from Nashville, Tennessee after her Bloomington show on March 14th. Baugh released her debut album, Dear Me, in October 2023. The album has been extremely successful, garnering over 500 thousand streams on the first day it was released. She is set to release her sophomore album sometime in 2025, and is continuing her "Entertainer's Heart" headlining world tour this year.
Baugh has always been into country music, and she plans to continue in the country direction. She also mentioned that she has begun to dip into the rock genre as well. Her creative process, she says, is completely organic. She says that her process differs depending on the song, but each time it is uniquely her own.
Baugh’s inspiration comes from her daily life, from her own experiences, and conversations with friends. When I asked about collaborations, Baugh told me that if she could collab with “anyone under the sun”, she would choose Eric Church. In the past, she has joined Keith Urban on tour as his utility player, and has appeared on dozens of television programs. She has also played at the CMT awards, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Baugh’s long-term goal is to be on the road and perform her music as much as possible. Baugh also said that her favorite song she has written is usually the most recent one, and that her new favorite song to perform is her new single, “Headstone,” which was released on March 21, 2025.
You can keep up with Maggie Baugh as she finishes her world tour this year by following her Instagram and checking out her music on streaming services.
