This summer I'll be starting a little weekly article to showcase my favorite tunes. Expect a healthy dose of just about anything you can dance tune. This week I'm starting out with an interesting house track by Terre Thaemlitz (perhaps better known by her former alias DJ Sprinkles). Terre is known for creating emotive soundscapes with radical themes. This one is no different. On "Motorik Life (DJ Sprinkles' Mountain of Despair)", Terre creates a pessimistic and desperate track by chopping up Martin Luther King Jr's I Have a Dream Speech and creating new meaning. The track slowly builds in intensity and finally peaks. Enjoy!
