It is almost Independence day, or for those who like their holidays to also be a reminder of what day it falls on the 4th of July! This Manchester rock band might have had a colossal breakup between the brothers Liam and Noel Gallanger, but their music lives on and so does the saying "Anyway, here's wonderwall".

Formed in 2004 in West Yorkshire The Pigeons are a five piece indie rock group. In an interview with the BBC Jimmy Naylor (drummer) spoke of Dave best (bassiest) saying "Dave breeds pigeons, and there's a pigeon that lives in a shed, that's his special pigeon, and this pigeon actually writes all the songs". This remains unconfirmed.
