Name: Brian Berger
Position: Station Manager

Hometown: West Chicago, IL
Why you love working at WIUX: Being able to work alongside the hilariously odd, unique and wonderful people that make up WIUX make the goofy scatterbrained human that is me feel right at home. And I dig that.
Favorite WIUX memory: One summer I was in between leases and basically living out of my car and crashing where I could, often times the station house. From now on, WIUX will always be remembered as my homeless home.

Hidden Talent/Something about you that is cool outside of WIUX: I’m a crappy musician but a pretty dang good carnie. When I was little I thought stoplights were controlled by tiny policemen that lived inside. Let’s hang sometime.

Favorite WIUX memory: I don’t think I can pick a single favorite. It’s like picking a favorite album, there’s just too many!

Why you love working at WIUX: Getting the opportunity to broadcast tons of different sporting events in unparalleled anywhere on campus.
Favorite WIUX memory: Driving 12 hours to Philadelphia to call the IU’s Sweet 16 game against UNC.

Hidden Talent/Something about you that is cool outside of WIUX: Everything cool about me is pretty much because of WIUX. That being said, I have been told by multiple people that I make the best chocolate chip cookies.

Favorite WIUX memory: Watching Alan Palomo of Neon Indian stuff his face with raw broccoli and attempting to keep a conversation, then puking my guts in the adjacent room ~1.5 hours later.

Why you love working at WIUX: WIUX has allowed me to pursue so many of my interests, and I doubt any other organization at IU is that versatile. I also have met a ton of cool people.
Favorite WIUX memory:Culture Shock 2016 was awesome and I think it’s a really cool event that we do here.

Hidden Talent/Something about you that is cool outside of WIUX: In kindergarten I was the lead little teapot. I think I peaked.

Why you love working at WIUX: The first people I met at IU were WIUX people, and they were also some of my first very good friends here. Some of the best people on the entire campus walk through our doors every week.
Favorite WIUX memory: Freshman year I was pushed on the ground by two directors and they took my shoes. I promise, they did it with love.
Show at WIUX: Radio Ha Ha, the WIUX sketch comedy show, which airs every other Wednesday at 5pm.
Hidden Talent/Something about you that is cool outside of WIUX: I am really good at Ms. Pac-Man. If I’m ever out and I see a Ms. Pac-Man machine, I will play it until I break the high score. I was the king of the Willow Springs pizza place Ms. Pac-Man circuit in the Summer of ‘13.

Name: Sarah Cougill

Why you love working at WIUX: I love working at WIUX because the people! are! amazing! Everyone is unbelievably talented, creative, and passionate. It’s truly a home. They’re my people.
Favorite WIUX memory: Culture Shock 2016. It was full of board bonding and spiritual experiences, and I got to pet a few dogs.
Show at WIUX: Peaked in High School, a talk show full of bad jokes and meme discourse. I co-host with two of my oldest pals (Noah Bousum and Calvin Badger).
Hidden Talent/Something about you that is cool outside of WIUX: I’m a stand-up and sketch comedian/photographer/mini golf extraordinaire. At any given point in time I’m probably drinking cold brew coffee and thinking about a.) a Vonnegut quote or b.) how Danny DeVito is a real human. Luv u all.

Why you love working at WIUX: I’ve been involved in radio since my freshman year of high school, and WIUX is a great continuation of what I’ve already done. The best part about radio is the people. They’re the most unique and confident people who will just be themselves, and because of that, I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.
Favorite WIUX memory: Coming into the studio after working with kindergarteners all morning and just being able to relax and share awesome music.

Why you love working at WIUX: Every day, some of the most creative, talented, and weirdest-yet-coolest people walk through the doors at WIUX. I’ve met some of my closest friends through this organization and their passion for music and all things radio is dang inspiring.
Favorite WIUX memory: Dancing side stage to Neon Indian at Culture Shock 2016. After having less than 24 hours to move the entire event inside, we were all deliriously tired, sweaty, and just happy to be there.

Why you love working at WIUX: I love being around people who are able to constantly introduce me to new, groovy music and also laugh at my jokes sometimes.
Favorite WIUX memory:  Walking home with my cohost after our first show ever. I’ve never felt so on top of the world or so accomplished.
